सा नियुक्ता पितुर्गेहि देवता5तिथिपूजने । उग्र पर्यचरत् तत्र ब्राह्मणं संशितव्रतम्
sā niyuktā pitur gehe devatātithipūjane | ugraṃ paryacarat tatra brāhmaṇaṃ saṃśitavratam ||
വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—പിതൃഗൃഹത്തിൽ പൃഥയ്ക്ക് ദേവപൂജയും അതിഥിസത്കാരവും ഏൽപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. അപ്പോൾ അവിടെ കഠിനവ്രതധാരിയും ഉഗ്രസ്വഭാവിയുമായ ഒരു ബ്രാഹ്മണൻ വന്നപ്പോൾ, പൃഥ ധർമ്മാനുസൃതമായി ശാസനയോടെ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ പരിചരിച്ചു.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights atithi-dharma and disciplined service: honoring guests and maintaining worship are central household duties, and even when a guest is difficult or fierce, one should uphold dharma through respectful, steady care.
