ध्यानयज्ञः, संसार-विष-निरूपणम्, पाशुपतयोगः, परा-अपरा विद्या, चतुर्वस्था-विचारः (अध्यायः ८६)

ज्ञानं धर्मोद्भवं साक्षाज् ज्ञानाद् वैराग्यसंभवः वैराग्यात्परमं ज्ञानं परमार्थप्रकाशकम्

jñānaṃ dharmodbhavaṃ sākṣāj jñānād vairāgyasaṃbhavaḥ vairāgyātparamaṃ jñānaṃ paramārthaprakāśakam

ജ്ഞാനം സാക്ഷാൽ ധർമ്മത്തിൽ നിന്നു ഉദ്ഭവിക്കുന്നു; ജ്ഞാനത്തിൽ നിന്നു വൈരാഗ്യം ജനിക്കുന്നു. വൈരാഗ്യത്തിൽ നിന്നു പരമാർത്ഥത്തെ പ്രകാശിപ്പിക്കുന്ന പരമജ്ഞാനം ലഭിക്കുന്നു—പാശങ്ങളെ ശിഥിലമാക്കി പശു (ബന്ധിത ജീവൻ)യെ പതി (ശിവൻ)യിലേക്കു നയിക്കുന്നു.
