Adhyaya 72 — Puradāha: Rudra’s Cosmic Chariot, Pāśupata-Vrata, and Brahmā’s Shiva-Stuti

शताक्षश्चैव पञ्चाक्षः सहस्राक्षो महोदरः यमजिह्वः शताश्वश् च कण्ठनः कण्ठपूजनः

Transliteration

śatākṣaścaiva pañcākṣaḥ sahasrākṣo mahodaraḥ yamajihvaḥ śatāśvaś ca kaṇṭhanaḥ kaṇṭhapūjanaḥ

Translation

അവൻ ശതാക്ഷൻ—ശതനേത്രൻ; പഞ്ചാക്ഷൻ—പഞ്ചാക്ഷരീസ്വരൂപ പ്രഭു; സഹസ്രാക്ഷൻ—സഹസ്രനേത്രൻ; മഹോദരൻ—വിരാടുദരധാരി. അവൻ യമജിഹ്വ—യമനെപ്പോലെ നിയന്ത്രണ-ന്യായത്തിന്റെ ജിഹ്വ; ശതാശ്വ—നൂറു കുതിരകളെപ്പോലെ വേഗവാൻ; കണ്ഠന—കണ്ഠം മഥിക്കുന്നവൻ; കണ്ഠപൂജന—കണ്ഠത്തിൽ പൂജിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന നീലകണ്ഠൻ, ലോകരക്ഷയ്ക്കായി വിഷം ധരിച്ചവൻ।
