अपूजितस्तदा देवैः प्राह देवान्निवारयन् श्रीविनायक उवाच मामपूज्य जगत्यस्मिन् भक्ष्यभोज्यादिभिः शुभैः

apūjitastadā devaiḥ prāha devānnivārayan śrīvināyaka uvāca māmapūjya jagatyasmin bhakṣyabhojyādibhiḥ śubhaiḥ

അപ്പോൾ ദേവന്മാർ പൂജിക്കാതിരുന്നതിനാൽ ശ്രീവിനായകൻ ദേവന്മാരെ തടഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ട് പറഞ്ഞു— “ഈ ലോകത്തിൽ ശുഭമായ ഭക്ഷ്യ-ഭോജ്യാദികൾ അർപ്പിച്ച് ആദ്യം എന്നെ പൂജിക്കാതെ…”
