anamitrasuto nighno nighnasya dvau babhūvatuḥ prasenaś ca mahābhāgaḥ satrājicca sutāvubhau
Suta Goswami
It establishes the sacred lineage and narrative setting through which later Dharma-events unfold; in the Linga Purana, such genealogies ground Shiva-bhakti and ritual authority by linking devotees and kings to a remembered Purāṇic order.
Indirectly: by presenting orderly succession and fortune (mahābhāga) within lineage, it reflects Shiva as Pati—the cosmic governor who upholds niyati (lawful order) while souls (paśu) move through karmic bonds (pāśa) across generations.
No specific puja-vidhi or Pāśupata-yoga practice is stated in this verse; it functions as narrative genealogy that later supports context for vows, gifts (dāna), and devotion-centered acts within the Purāṇic flow.
