प्राणा वै जगतामापो भूतानि भुवनानि च बहुनात्र किमुक्तेन चराचरमिदं जगत्

Transliteration

prāṇā vai jagatāmāpo bhūtāni bhuvanāni ca bahunātra kimuktena carācaramidaṃ jagat

Translation

പ്രാണനാണ് ജഗത്തിന്റെ അധാരം—ജലവും ഭൂതപ്രാണികളും എല്ലാ ലോകങ്ങളും അതിൽ നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു. അധികം എന്തു പറയണം? ഈ ചരാചര സർവ്വവിശ്വവും പ്രാണനാൽ ധരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു; ആ പ്രാണനും അന്തര്യാമിയായ പതി ഭഗവാൻ ശിവന്റെ അധീനമാണ്.
