FAQs

It frames Linga-worship with kṣamā-prārthanā (a plea for forgiveness), purifying karma, thought, and speech so the pashu (soul) may approach Pati (Shiva) with humility and receptivity to grace.

Shiva’s līlā and acts are called “wondrous, secret, and unfathomable,” indicating that Shiva-tattva transcends ordinary cognition and is known fully only through anugraha (divine grace), not merely intellectual grasp.

The verse highlights inner purification—governing body, mind, and speech—as a preparatory discipline aligned with Pāśupata-oriented practice and foundational to any Shiva-pūjā or meditation on the Linga.
