tvayā sṛṣṭaṃ jagatsarvaṃ mātastvaṃ mā vināśaya tvaṃ hi saṃdhārayellokān imān sarvān svatejasā
A Deva (supplicant) addressing Devī/Śakti within Sūta’s narration
It frames Śakti as the creative and sustaining power inseparable from Pati (Śiva), supporting the Shaiva view that Linga-worship honors the Supreme together with His inherent Śakti that upholds the worlds.
By implying that the cosmos is sustained through sva-tejas, it points to the Lord’s sovereign, self-sufficient power—Shiva-tattva as Pati whose manifestation operates through Śakti, while the pashu seeks protection from dissolution.
A devotional stuti (praise-prayer) seeking protection (rakṣā) and stability of the lokas—an inner posture aligned with Pāśupata discipline: surrender of the pashu to the sustaining power of Pati-Śakti.
