FAQs

It implies that brahmavidyā—realization of Brahman/Ātman—is reached through sustained remembrance, reverence, and worship, showing that devotional discipline can culminate in liberating knowledge.

The verse emphasizes smaraṇa (continuous recollection), namaskāra (humbling the ego through reverence), and arcana/tarpaṇa (ritual devotion). In Kurma Purana’s synthesis, these function as preparatory disciplines that steady the mind for higher knowledge.

Though not naming Śiva or Viṣṇu directly, it reflects the Purana’s integrative approach: sincere worship and remembrance of the revered divine principle (as taught in context) leads to brahmavidyā, aligning devotional theism with non-dual realization.
