इत्युक्तः शङ्कुकर्णो ऽथ पिशाचमिदमब्रवीत् / त्वादृशो न हि लोके ऽस्मिन् विद्यते पुण्यकृत्तमः
ityuktaḥ śaṅkukarṇo 'tha piśācamidamabravīt / tvādṛśo na hi loke 'smin vidyate puṇyakṛttamaḥ
ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ശങ്കുകർണ്ണൻ ആ പിശാചിനോട് പറഞ്ഞു—“ഈ ലോകത്ത് നിന്നുപോലെയുള്ളവൻ ഇല്ല; പുണ്യകർമ്മങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നേക്കാൾ ശ്രേഷ്ഠൻ ആരുമില്ല.”
