FAQs

It does not directly define Ātman; instead, it upholds dharmic excellence—pure character (śīla) and noble generosity (audārya)—as outward marks of inner sattva that Purāṇas often associate with spiritual refinement.

No explicit yoga technique is taught in this verse. Indirectly, it supports the ethical foundation (yama-like virtues such as truthfulness, restraint, and generosity) that the Kurma Purana elsewhere treats as prerequisite for higher sādhana, including Pāśupata-oriented discipline and devotion.

It does not mention Śiva–Viṣṇu unity explicitly. Its focus is dharma through Sītā’s exemplary virtues, which the Kurma Purana integrates into its broader synthesis where righteous conduct supports both Vaiṣṇava devotion and Śaiva-oriented yoga paths.
