Purūravā’s Song of Renunciation and the Glory of Sādhu-saṅga
tā ye śṛṇvanti gāyanti hy anumodanti cādṛtāḥ mat-parāḥ śraddadhānāś ca bhaktiṁ vindanti te mayi
One who hears from advanced devotees of Lord Kṛṣṇa can be saved from the ocean of material existence. When one obeys the order of a bona fide spiritual master, the polluted workings of the mind are checked, one sees things in a new, spiritual light, and there blossoms the propensity for selfless loving service to the Lord, which gives the fruit of love of Godhead.
In 11.26.29, Kṛṣṇa says that those who respectfully hear, sing, and even gladly endorse these teachings—while remaining devoted to Him with faith—attain bhakti to Him.
While instructing Uddhava (Uddhava Gītā), Kṛṣṇa emphasizes that sincere engagement with His teachings—śravaṇa (hearing) and kīrtana (chanting), along with faithful acceptance—naturally leads to devotion.
Regularly listen to authentic Bhagavatam teachings, chant or recite them, and cultivate a respectful, appreciative attitude—doing so with steady faith and keeping Kṛṣṇa as the goal.
