Sukta 28
अधि॑ नो ब्रूतं॒ पृत॑नासूग्रौ॒ सं वज्रे॑ण सृजतं॒ यः कि॑मी॒दी। स्तौमि॑ भवाश॒र्वौ ना॑थि॒तो॑ जो॑हवीमि॒ तौ नो॑ मुञ्चत॒मंह॑सः
ádhi no brūtam pṛ́tanāsu ugrāu sáṃ vájreṇa sṛ́jatam yáḥ kimī́dī | stāúmi bhavāśárvāu nā́thito jóhavīmi táu no muñcatam áṃhasaḥ
Speak ye in power for us amid the battles, ye fierce twain; with the bolt hurl down the Kiṃīdin, whosoe’er he be. I laud Bhava and Śarva; in my need I call on them again and yet again: from anguish and from sin release ye us.
ഹേ ഉഗ്രരായ ആ ഇരുവരേ, യുദ്ധങ്ങളുടെ നടുവിൽ ഞങ്ങൾക്കായി ശക്തിയായി വാക്കുചൊല്ലുവിൻ; വജ്രംകൊണ്ട് കിമീദിൻ—ആരായാലും—അവനെ താഴെയിറക്കുവിൻ. ഞാൻ ഭവനെയും ശർവനെയും സ്തുതിക്കുന്നു; ആവശ്യമെത്തുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ അവരെ വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും വിളിക്കുന്നു: ഞങ്ങളെ അംഹസ് (വേദന/കഷ്ടം)യും പാപവും നിന്നു മോചിപ്പിക്കുവിൻ.
