सुदेवो असि वरुण यस्य ते सप्त सिन्धवः । अनुक्षरन्ति काकुदं सूर्यं सुषिरामिव

IAST Transliteration

sudévo asi varuṇa yásya te saptá síndhavaḥ | anukṣáranti kākúdaṃ sū́ryaṃ suṣirā́m iva

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

A gracious God art thou, O Varuṇa, whose seven rivers flow in ordered course; they follow on the ridge, the Sun, as waters well-channelled.

Translation

ഹേ വരുണാ, നീ സുദേവൻ (കൃപാമയ ദേവൻ) ആകുന്നു; നിന്റെ ഏഴു സിന്ധുക്കൾ ക്രമബദ്ധമായി ഒഴുകുന്നു. അവ കാകുദം (ഉയർന്ന കര/മുകളമ്പലം) മേൽ സൂര്യനെ അനുഗമിക്കുന്നു—സുഷിരാ (നന്നായി ചാനലാക്കിയ) ജലധാരകളെപ്പോലെ.
