कालः। कालादापः समभवन् कालाद् ब्रह्म तपो दिशः । कालेनोदेति सूर्यः काले नि विशते पुनः
kāláḥ | kālā́d ā́paḥ sám abhavan kālā́d bráhma tápo díśaḥ | kālénódeti sū́ryaḥ kālé ní viśate púnaḥ ||
Time: from Time the Waters came to be; from Time came Brahman, austere Heat, and the Quarters. By Time the Sun ariseth; in Time he entereth down again.
കാലം: കാലത്തിൽ നിന്നുതന്നെ ആപഃ (ജലം) ഉണ്ടായി; കാലത്തിൽ നിന്നു ബ്രഹ്മം, തപസ്, ദിക്കുകൾ ഉദിച്ചു. കാലം കൊണ്ടാണ് സൂര്യൻ ഉദിക്കുന്നത്; കാലത്തിലേയ്ക്കുതന്നെ അവൻ വീണ്ടും താഴേക്ക് അസ്തമിക്കുന്നു.
