प्र के॒तुना॑ बृह॒ता भा॑त्य॒ग्निरा रोद॑सी वृष॒भो रो॑रवीति । दि॒वश्चि॒दन्ता॑दुप॒मामुदा॑नड॒पामु॒पस्थे॑ महि॒षो व॑वर्ध
prá ketúnā bṛhatā́ bhāty agnír ā́ rodasī vṛ́ṣabho róravīti | diváś cid ántād upamā́m udānaḍ apā́m upásthe mahiṣó vavardha
Forth with his mighty ensign shines Agni; the Bull roars unto both the worlds. From heaven’s very limit unto the nearer bound he surged aloft; in the lap of waters the mighty one hath waxed.
മഹത്തായ കേതു (ധ്വജം/ചിഹ്നം) സഹിതം അഗ്നി പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നു; വൃഷഭനായി അവൻ ഇരുലോകങ്ങളോടും—ദിവും പൃഥ്വിയും—ഗർജിക്കുന്നു. സ്വർഗത്തിന്റെ അറ്റത്തിൽ നിന്നു സമീപപരിധിവരെ അവൻ ഉയർന്നു പാഞ്ഞുയർന്നു; ജലങ്ങളുടെ ഉപസ്ഥത്തിൽ മഹിഷൻ (മഹാൻ) വളർന്നു.
