अ॒भि त्वो॑र्णोमि पृथि॒व्या मा॒तुर्वस्त्रे॑ण भ॒द्रया॑ । जी॒वेषु॑ भ॒द्रं तन्मयि॑ स्व॒धा पि॒तृषु॒ सा त्वयि॑

abhí tvā́ ūrṇomi pṛthivyā́ mātúr vástreṇa bhadráyā | jīvéṣu bhadráṃ tán máyī svadhā́ pitṛ́ṣu sā́ tváyi

Over thee I wrap the kindly garment of Earth the Mother. Among the living be welfare—let that be in me; among the Fathers be svadhā—let that be in thee.

പൃഥിവീ മാതാവിന്റെ ഭദ്രമായ വസ്ത്രംകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ നിന്നെ പൊതിയുന്നു. ജീവന്മാരിൽ ക്ഷേമം ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ—ആ ക്ഷേമം എന്നിൽ ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ; പിതൃകളിൽ സ്വധാ ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ—ആ സ്വധാ നിന്നിൽ ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ.
