Concept: Ritual ‘vivification’ as a means to align devotee intention (saṅkalpa) with the deity-presence established in the icon.

Application: Treat liṅga and its base as a complete sacred body; perform nyāsa systematically on each component to avoid ‘partial worship’ and to stabilize attention and saṅkalpa.

FAQs

It teaches jīva-nyāsa on the Śiva-liṅga as a key consecratory act, then signals the next step: performing nyāsa on the piṇḍikā (base) and associated components.

By preserving a precise, step-by-step liturgical technology (nyāsa sequences applied to specific ritual substrates like the liṅga and its pedestal), it documents specialized temple/household worship procedures alongside the Purana’s broader subjects.

The verse frames jīva-nyāsa as a consecration that ‘activates’ worship, making the rite result-bearing (sarvārtha-sādhaka) by aligning the deity’s presence with the worshipper’s mantra practice.
