FAQs

It gives a dharmic guideline on what should not be rashly renounced—social standing, resources, household infrastructure, and family ties—implying disciplined restraint rather than impulsive abandonment.

Alongside rituals and cosmology, the Agni Purana also preserves practical ethical counsel for household life and spiritual discipline, showing its wide coverage of social-dharma and moksha-oriented instruction.

It frames renunciation as an inner detachment guided by dharma—avoiding harmful or irresponsible abandonment—thereby supporting purity of intention and reducing karmic harm to dependents.
