Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Procedure","entry_title":"Amangalya-nāśana: Hari-pūjā and counter-omen entry (praveśa)","lookup_keywords":["pūjā-vidhi","Hari","amaṅgalya-nāśana","śakuna","gṛha-praveśa"],"quick_summary":"Perform Hari worship and praise to dispel inauspiciousness; after noting the next omen, enter the house by an act that counters/neutralizes the adverse indication."}

Concept: Īśvara-smaraṇa and pūjā as śānti (pacification), followed by mindful action aligned against negativity.

Application: Before entering home after troubling signs, do brief Viṣṇu-arcana/stuti; then proceed with a deliberate ‘viparīta’ (counter) act to negate the omen’s directionality.

Khanda Section: Puja-vidhi (Auspicious observances, daily ritual protocol, and omens)

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: bhakti

FAQs

It teaches a practical mangala-upāya: worship and praise of Hari (Viṣṇu) as a ritual countermeasure to remove inauspiciousness, followed by entering the home with an act that counters an observed adverse sign.

Beyond theology, it preserves applied household ritual protocol—how to respond to omens and maintain auspiciousness—showing the Purana’s coverage of daily-life dharma alongside broader religious instruction.

Hari-pūjā and stuti are presented as purifying actions that dispel amaṅgalya, aligning the entrant’s mind and karma toward śubha (auspiciousness) before crossing the threshold of the home.
