Concept: Mantra is presented as a tool for worldly siddhis (vāśya, vāk-siddhi), illustrating the purāṇic cataloging of pragmatic/occult techniques.
Application: As a textual study note: distinguish benefic rakṣā/śānti uses from coercive vāśya aims; emphasize ethical restraint and dhārmic intent in practice.

Primary Rasa: shringara
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A practitioner prepares ritual collyrium and applies a tilaka while chanting; a second vignette shows poetic speech flowing (scrolls/verses near the tongue), and an erotic/occult vignette is implied but kept symbolic (lotus/yoni yantra motif) rather than explicit.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural, sādhaka with small stone palette and collyrium rod, applying añjana and tilaka, mantra beads in hand; symbolic lotus-yantra motif for the later line, restrained iconography, traditional flat composition.","tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore, ritual cosmetics scene with gold detailing on vessels and ornaments; a stylized Sarasvatī-like motif near the mouth to indicate poetic gift; symbolic yantra panel (lotus) for the occult reference, non-explicit.","mysore_prompt":"Mysore painting, close-up instructional depiction of añjana preparation and tilaka placement, neat labeling feel, subtle symbolic script emerging near lips to show kavitā-siddhi.","mughal_miniature_prompt":"Mughal miniature, an ascetic-scholar in a study applying tilaka before a mirror, inkpot and manuscripts nearby; delicate calligraphy scrolls indicating poetry; symbolic lotus diagram in margin."}

Related Themes: Agni Purana 312 (vāśya/abhicāra-oriented prayogas in the same khanda)
It lists mantra-prayogas: applying the mantra as anjana (collyrium) and tilaka (forehead mark) for vashya (subjugation), and using japa (recitation) to obtain siddhis such as poetic speech and erotic/sexual control-related effects.
Beyond theology, the Agni Purana catalogs practical (and sometimes transgressive) mantra-tantra applications—showing its scope includes ritual technology, siddhi-lore, and applied esoteric procedures alongside dharma and devotion.
In puranic-tantric framing, such results are treated as mantra-siddhis (powers) arising from japa and ritual application; however, they are ethically charged, and traditional dharmic guidance would caution that vashya aims can bind one to desire-driven karma rather than liberation.
