FAQs

It teaches a śānti-prayoga: first petitioning for pacification, then invoking the kuṇḍa with mantras and completing a lakṣa-homa (100,000 oblations) according to the established procedure.

It functions as a compact ritual manual entry—preserving operational details of homa practice (invocation, sequence, and scale of offerings), illustrating the Agni Purana’s coverage of practical liturgy alongside theology and other sciences.

Śānti and lakṣa-homa are framed as powerful appeasement and purification acts—meant to remove afflictions/obstacles and stabilize auspiciousness through sustained, mantra-guided offerings into sacred fire.
