FAQs

It conveys Ayurvedic-style reproductive/embryological timing (a three-month gestational period) along with a quantified statement about egg/ovum production, using traditional calendrical and counting units.

Beyond theology, the Agni Purana preserves applied knowledge—here, biological and reproductive quantification—showing its scope as a compendium that includes proto-medical and observational material alongside ritual and dharma topics.

Primarily technical rather than devotional, it supports dharmic household life by systematizing knowledge related to conception and birth, which in Purāṇic culture underpins rites of passage (saṃskāras) and responsible family duties.
