FAQs

Ayurvedic pharmaceutics: preparing a medicated ghee (Pañcatikta-ghṛta) cooked with Triphalā for therapeutic use against kuṣṭha (chronic skin disorders).

It preserves practical clinical knowledge—dosage-measures (prastha), drug-group concepts (pañca-tikta), and specific indications (kuṣṭha)—showing the Purana’s coverage beyond theology into applied Ayurveda.

By framing healing knowledge within a Purāṇic teaching context, the verse treats bodily purification and relief from disease as supportive of dharma—enabling disciplined living, worship, and ethical conduct through restored health.
