Chapter 283 — Mantras as Medicine (मन्त्ररूपौषधकथनम्)

नारायणञ्च दुःस्वप्ने दाहादौ जलशायिनं हयग्रीवञ्च विद्यार्थी जगत्सूतिं सुताप्तये बलभद्रं शौरकार्ये एकं नामार्थसाधकम्

nārāyaṇañca duḥsvapne dāhādau jalaśāyinaṃ hayagrīvañca vidyārthī jagatsūtiṃ sutāptaye balabhadraṃ śaurakārye ekaṃ nāmārthasādhakam

ദുഃസ്വപ്നം വന്നാൽ ‘നാരായണ’നെ സ്മരിക്കണം; ദാഹാദി ഭീഷണികളിൽ ‘ജലശായി’ (വിഷ്ണു)യെ സ്മരിക്കണം. വിദ്യാർത്ഥി ‘ഹയഗ്രീവ’നെ സ്മരിക്കണം; പുത്രപ്രാപ്തിക്കായി ‘ജഗത്സൂതി’ (ജഗന്മാതാവ്)യെ സ്മരിക്കണം. ശൗര്യകാര്യങ്ങളിൽ ‘ബലഭദ്ര’നെ സ്മരിക്കണം. ഇങ്ങനെ ഒരൊറ്റ ദിവ്യനാമം കൊണ്ടുതന്നെ അഭിപ്രേതഫലം സിദ്ധമാകുന്നു.
