FAQs

Vāstu-vidyā: it prescribes which directions within a site are assigned to specific deities (Varuṇa, Vāyu, Nāga, Yakṣa/Kubera, Guha) and indicates construction/placement in the south-west and other quarters.

It shows the Agni Purana functioning as a practical manual beyond mythology—encoding architectural and ritual zoning rules (directional theology applied to planning), a hallmark of its multi-disciplinary, encyclopedic scope.

Correct directional placement harmonizes the dwelling/temple with the presiding deities of space, supporting auspiciousness (śubha), protection, and orderly ritual efficacy by aligning human construction with cosmic guardianship.
