Method of Consecrating the Pavitra and Related Rites
कुम्भपार्श्वे तु संस्थाप्य रक्षां विज्ञाप्य देशिकः दन्तकाष्ठञ्चामरकं पूर्वे सङ्कर्षणेन तु

Concept: Ritual space is a mandala: protection (rakṣā) and correct dik-sthāpana of implements uphold dharma of worship and prevent vighna.
Application: During pūjā setup, treat the kumbha as a central power-node; place implements by direction and formally ‘announce’ rakṣā to establish boundaries.

Related Themes: Agni Purana: dik-pūjā and rakṣābandhana passages in Puja-vidhi; Agni Purana: Vyūha (Saṅkarṣaṇa/Pradyumna/Aniruddha) usage in mantra-nyāsa contexts
It teaches a precise placement protocol in worship: install the protective arrangement (rakṣā) beside the kumbha, formally invoke/declare it, and place specific implements (dantakāṣṭha and cāmara) to the east, linked with Saṅkarṣaṇa.
By preserving granular liturgical logistics—directional placement, ritual objects, and theological mapping to a specific Vyūha (Saṅkarṣaṇa)—it functions as a practical manual alongside the Purana’s broader coverage of doctrine, rites, and applied traditions.
Correct placement and invocation of rakṣā is understood to secure ritual purity and safeguard the rite from obstacles (vighna), aligning the worship space with divine order through the eastern orientation and the Saṅkarṣaṇa association.
