Lord Agni (Agni Purana’s primary narrator) to Sage Vasiṣṭha (traditional dialogue frame)

Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"List","entry_title":"Nāḍī-Śarīra: Koṣṭhaka-saṅkhyā, Hṛdaya-prabhava Nāḍī, and Agni–Soma Nāḍīs at Nāsāgra","lookup_keywords":["24,000 koṣṭhaka","nāḍī from heart","ṣoḍaśa koṣṭhaka madhya","agni soma nāḍī","nāsāgra"],"quick_summary":"The text enumerates a vast inner ‘chamber’ structure and places nāḍīs as heart-origin channels that become experientially accessible through the senses. Two principal nāḍīs of agni and soma polarity are located at the nose-tip, supporting breath-linked contemplation."}
Concept: Embodied cognition of subtle channels: perception and practice are mediated through nāḍī pathways; agni–soma duality frames experiential regulation (heat/cool, activation/soothing).
Application: Use the agni–soma lens to interpret breath and attention states; cultivate balance by steadying prāṇa and reducing sensory grasping.

Sandhi Resolution Notes: caturviṃśatyadhikam tu → catur-viṃśati-adhikam + tu; agnīṣomātmake → agnī-ṣoma-ātmake; nāsāgrasaṃsthite → nāsā-agra-saṃsthite.
Related Themes: Agni Purana 29.32 (rays and nāḍī expansion); Agni Purana 29.34 (deha-samīraṇa-jaya); Agni Purana 29.35 (tanmātra-śuddhi; siddhi vs vairāgya)
It teaches a technical model of subtle physiology: nāḍīs originate from the heart, relate to sensory function, and two key channels of Agni–Soma quality are associated with the nose-tip—useful for prāṇa-focused practices and breath/attention disciplines.
Beyond mythology, it preserves a schematic of yogic–āyurvedic body theory (koṣṭhakas, nāḍīs, Agni/Soma functional principles), showing the text’s coverage of medical and psycho-physiological knowledge alongside ritual and dharma.
By linking heart-origin nāḍīs and the nose-tip (a classic locus for breath-awareness) to Agni–Soma balance, it implies that disciplined regulation of prāṇa and senses supports inner purification and steadiness of mind, aiding spiritual practice.
