FAQs

It exemplifies Purāṇic sacred-topographical cataloguing, where cities and regions are described through characteristic qualities and linked to mythic figures, aiding the reconstruction of cultural geography in Sanskrit literature.

A city named Tejovatī is identified; the verse itself does not provide a modern correlating location, and scholarly identification would require comparison with parallel Purāṇic passages and regional toponymy.

No explicit ethical injunction appears in this verse; its primary function is descriptive—framing a heritage-geography narrative by associating a city (Tejovatī) with qualities and with Hutāśa (Agni).
