दिनमाना निशा ज्ञेया अहोरात्रं द्वयाद्भवेत् । तैः पंचदशभिः पक्षो द्विपक्षो मास उच्यते
dinamānā niśā jñeyā ahorātraṃ dvayādbhavet | taiḥ paṃcadaśabhiḥ pakṣo dvipakṣo māsa ucyate
ກາງຄືນພຶງຮູ້ວ່າມີມາດຕາເທົ່າກັບກາງວັນ; ຈາກຄູ່ນັ້ນເກີດເປັນ «ອະໂຫຣາຕຣະ» (ວັນ-ຄືນ) ຄົບຖ້ວນ. 15 ວັນເປັນ «ປັກສະ» (ຄື່ງເດືອນ); ສອງປັກສະເອີ້ນວ່າ «ເດືອນ».
