Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Sthala Purana: Terminological clarification: some teachers label the restorative rite ‘pratiṣṭhā’, others ‘saṃprokṣaṇa-krama’. In saṃprokṣaṇa, the deity is first ritually withdrawn (udvāsa) from the liṅga and related supports, as earlier prescribed, before purification proceeds.
Significance: Establishes procedural orthodoxy and lineage-variation (ācārya-bheda) while preserving the core principle: invoked presence is respectfully withdrawn before re-purification—protecting sanctity and efficacy.
It emphasizes ritual clarity and reverence: the invoked presence of Shiva in the Liṅga is honored as a living divine manifestation, and procedures like consecration or sprinkling are performed only after properly following the prescribed order.
The verse treats the Liṅga as a valid saguna support for worship where the Deity is invoked and ritually present; that presence is not handled casually—before purification steps, the worshipper ritually withdraws/dismisses the invoked Deity according to rule.
A practical takeaway is disciplined pūjā-krama: invoke Shiva with mantra, and when a purification/renewal rite is required, perform a proper udvāsana (formal dismissal) before saṃprokṣaṇa—maintaining mantra-based attentiveness and purity of conduct.
