It portrays how worldly might and even divine weaponry can be checked when ego and fate drive conflict; Shaiva reading emphasizes that true sovereignty belongs to Pati (Śiva), while all powers operate within the cosmic order.
The battle setting underscores the Purāṇic theme that forms and weapons are secondary to the Supreme Lord’s governance; worship of the Liṅga/Saguṇa Śiva trains the devotee to rely on grace and dharma rather than pride in strength.
A practical takeaway is japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with humility, along with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) remembrance to reduce anger (kopa) and stabilize the mind.
