Brahma
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Type: stotra
It portrays the Shaiva Siddhanta emphasis on Śiva as Pati—the compassionate Lord who, when approached with humility, removes duḥkha (bondage-born sorrow) and grants auspicious fulfillment through grace (anugraha).
The prayer addresses Śiva personally as Hara, highlighting Saguna worship—devotees petition the manifest Lord for mercy and relief; in Linga worship the same attitude is expressed through offering, prayer, and surrender to Shiva’s presence.
A simple takeaway is devotional supplication (prārthanā) with compassion-seeking: recite the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and mentally request Hara to remove duḥkha while cultivating humility and reverence.
