Sukta 8.97
विश्वाः पृतना अभिभूतरं नरं सजूस्ततक्षुरिन्द्रं जजनुश्च राजसे । क्रत्वा वरिष्ठं वर आमुरिमुतोग्रमोजिष्ठं तवसं तरस्विनम् ॥
viśvā́ḥ pṛ́tanā abhí-bhū́taram náraṃ sa-jū́s tatakṣúr índraṃ jajánuś ca rājáse | kratvā́ váriṣṭhaṃ vára āmúrim utógram ójiṣṭhaṃ tavásaṃ tarásvinam ||
All the battles, joining together in one movement, have shaped and brought forth Indra—the conquering Man—for sovereign rule: most excellent in will (kratu), choicest in the supreme choosing, irresistible in onset, and the fierce, most forceful, mighty bearer of victorious momentum.
