Narada
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: karuna
It functions as a phala-śruti: it declares that sincere recitation of this Kāruṇya-named hymn to Puruṣottama destroys accumulated sin and leads to both worldly well-being (sukha) and the highest goal (mokṣa).
It presents stotra-pāṭha (devotional praise) as an effective bhakti-sādhana: by turning the mind to Puruṣottama through praise, one gains divine grace described here as compassion (kāruṇya), resulting in purification and liberation.
While no specific Vedāṅga is taught directly, the verse reflects the prayoga principle used in Purāṇic ritual practice: phala-śruti attached to mantra/stotra recitation, guiding how and why a hymn is employed in devotional observances.
