Suta (narrating the tirtha-mahatmya in Uttara-Bhaga; traditionally relaying Purana discourse)
Vrata: Kṛcchra (penance category; not a named vrata here)
Rasa: {"primary_rasa":"shanta","secondary_rasa":"adbhuta","emotional_journey":"Affirms lifelong Gaṅgā-bank residence as siddhi-giving, then heightens wonder by equating it with the hard-won fruit of constant severe penances—yet attained easily."}
It elevates Gaṅgā-tīra-nivāsa (lifetime residence near the Ganga) as a powerful tirtha-based sādhanā that grants siddhi, equating its merit to the fruit of sustained severe austerities.
By praising sacred association with the Gaṅgā—revered as a purifier and object of devotion—the verse supports bhakti-oriented living where proximity to a tirtha naturally fosters worship, purity, and remembrance, yielding high spiritual fruit without harsh self-torment.
Ritual discipline (kalpa-oriented practice) is implied through the reference to kṛcchra penances: structured expiatory/ascetic observances whose results are said to be matched by sustained tirtha-residence.
