FAQs

It establishes Gaṅgā as the unrivaled tirtha in Kali-yuga: other sacred places are said to channel their purifying power into her, while her sanctity remains undiminished and non-transferable.

By presenting Gaṅgā as a living Devī whose grace concentrates the merit of many tirthas, the verse supports simple, faith-filled practices—reverence, remembrance, and worship at Gaṅgā—as accessible forms of devotion in Kali-yuga.

It most directly informs kalpa (ritual practice): the idea that snāna and tirtha-sevā at Gaṅgā yields amplified purification in Kali-yuga, guiding pilgrimage priorities and ritual choices rather than technical grammar or astrology.
