FAQs

It emphasizes that grave adharma—here framed as wilful violation of rightful authority—draws severe karmic consequence, and that even the instruments of punishment are portrayed as recoiling from such intense pāpa, underscoring the need for dharmic restraint and purification.

By highlighting the weight of pāpa and the fearsome nature of its results, the verse indirectly points to the necessity of śuddhi (purification) and dharma as supports for steady bhakti—since devotion in the Narada Purana is repeatedly taught as most fruitful when grounded in right conduct.

No specific Vedanga (like Vyākaraṇa, Jyotiṣa, or Kalpa) is directly taught in this verse; the practical takeaway is dharma-nīti: guarding speech and action against transgression to avoid pāpa that leads to yātanā.
