Vrata: Kārtika-vrata (dīpa-dāna as a key observance)
Rasa: {"primary_rasa":"bhakti","secondary_rasa":"adbhuta","emotional_journey":"From setting aside burdensome, expensive gifts to marveling at the simple yet powerful act of lamp-offering that grants heaven."}
It elevates dīpa-dāna as a highly efficacious, accessible act of dāna: even without expensive offerings, the merit of gifting light is said to lead to svarga (heavenly attainment).
By praising a simple offering (a lamp), it emphasizes sincerity over expense—an approach aligned with bhakti where devotion expressed through humble, symbolic service (light offered with reverence) is spiritually potent.
Ritual praxis (kalpa-oriented practice) is implied: the verse points to a specific, doable rite—dīpa-dāna—showing how prescribed acts of dāna generate punya without requiring elaborate or costly yajña-style expenditures.
