गुरुरुवाच कुतस्त्वं कथयानन्द ! चैत्रः को वा त्वयोच्यते ।
सङ्कटं महदाभाति क्व जातोऽत्र ब्रवीषि किम् ॥
gurur uvāca kutas tvaṃ kathayānanda caitraḥ ko vā tvayocyate | saṅkaṭaṃ mahad ābhāti kva jāto 'tra bravīṣi kim ||
ອາຈານກ່າວວ່າ: «ຈາກໃສເຈົ້າຈຶ່ງເວົ້າແບບນັ້ນ, ອານັນດະ (Ānanda)? ‘ໄຈຕຣະ’ (Caitra) ທີ່ເຈົ້າເວົ້າເຖິງນັ້ນແມ່ນໃຜ? ດູເໝືອນວ່າອັນຕະລາຍໃຫຍ່ກໍາລັງປາກົດ—ເຈົ້າເກີດຢູ່ໃສ? ແທ້ໆແລ້ວເຈົ້າກໍາລັງເວົ້າຫຍັງ?»
