Adhyaya 72 — The Reconciliation Rite, Sarasvati Sacrifice, and the Birth of Uttama Manu (Auttama Manvantara Prelude)
tasya dṛṣṭvā vapuḥ kāntaṃ bhaviṣyaṃ śīlam eva ca | auttamaś ceti munayo nāma cakruḥ samāgatāḥ ||
(Auttama)».
The sages’ naming implies that true status is recognized by discernment of character (śīla) and destiny, not merely by royal lineage.
Manvantara + Vaṃśānucarita: the narrative explicitly anchors a dynastic birth to a specific Manu identity (Auttama).
Name-giving by ṛṣis symbolizes ‘mantra-like’ authorization: the spoken name crystallizes the child’s role as an archetypal regulator of dharma for an age.
