Adhyaya 50 — Mind-Born Progeny, Svayambhuva Manu’s Lineage, and Brahmā’s Ordinance to Duḥsaha (Alakṣmī’s Retinue)
देवतापितृभृत्यानामतिथीनाञ्च वर्तनम् ।
यस्यायवशिष्टेनान्नेन पुंसस्तस्य गृहं त्यज ॥
सत्यवाक्यान् क्षमाशीलानहिंस्रान्नानुतापिनः ।
पुरुषानीदृशान् यक्ष ! त्यजेथाश्चानसूयकान् ॥
devatā-pitṛ-bhṛtyānām atithīnāṃ ca vartanam | yasyāyavaśiṣṭenānnena puṃsas tasya gṛhaṃ tyaja ||
satya-vākyān kṣamā-śīlān ahiṃsrān nānutāpinaḥ | puruṣān īdṛśān yakṣa! tyajethāś cānasūyakān ||

Feeding gods/ancestors/guests/dependents with leftovers signals miserliness and disrespect in sacred reciprocity. Conversely, truth, patience, non-violence, and non-envy form a protective moral aura—hence the Yakṣa is told to avoid such persons.
Dharma instruction supporting ritual-social order; not directly a pancalakṣaṇa unit.
Food is a carrier of subtle merit (puṇya) and intention (bhāva). Offering 'remnants' to sacred recipients reflects inner impurity; truth/non-violence/non-envy reflect sattva that repels afflictive beings.
