Dharma is shown as consistent, daily responsibility: true merit lies not in a single grand act but in sustained care—feeding, protecting, and fostering those placed under one’s charge.
This verse is not directly sarga/pratisarga/vamśa/manvantara/vamśānucarita data; it belongs mainly to vamśānucarita-style narrative ethics (illustrative conduct within a story) and supports purāṇic dharma instruction.
‘Food (āhāra) + sweet nourishment (pāyasa) + protection (gupti)’ forms a triad of sustaining life: material support, affectionate strengthening, and safeguarding—symbolically the threefold maintenance of embodied beings (śarīra, prāṇa, and security) through sattvic stewardship.
