वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharma expressed as humility and reverence: honoring sages and brāhmaṇas through respectful salutation and worship is portrayed as a foundational ethical discipline, especially for rulers and warriors.
The Pāṇḍavas bow at the feet of the sage Ārṣiṇa and their priest Dhaumya, then, with folded hands, they honor the assembled brāhmaṇas—marking a formal act of respect and welcome.
