राजधर्मः—राष्ट्ररक्षणं, दण्डनीतिः, हयग्रीवोपाख्यानम्

कालेन शीघ्रा: प्रवहन्ति वाता: कालेन वृष्टिर्जलदानुपैति । कालेन पद्मोत्पलवज्जलं च कालेन पुष्यन्ति वनेषु वृक्षा:
kālena śīghrāḥ pravahanti vātāḥ kālena vṛṣṭir jaladānupaiti | kālena padmotpalavaj jalaṃ ca kālena puṣyanti vaneṣu vṛkṣāḥ ||
ວະຍາສະ ກ່າວວ່າ: «ໃນລະດູການອັນຄວນ ລົມແຮງພັດພາ. ໃນລະດູການອັນຄວນ ເມກນຳຝົນມາແລະຫຼົ່ນນ້ຳລົງ. ໃນລະດູການອັນຄວນ ດອກບົວແລະບົວຟ້າເກີດຂຶ້ນໃນນ້ຳ; ແລະໃນລະດູການອັນຄວນ ຕົ້ນໄມ້ໃນປ່າກໍເຕີບໃຫຍ່ແຂງແຮງ. ດັ່ງນັ້ນ ລະບຽບຂອງໂລກຖືກຄຸ້ມຄອງໂດຍ ‘ເວລາ’ ແລະຜູ້ມີປັນຍາຄວນປັບຕົນໃຫ້ກົງກັບຈັງຫວະທີ່ຖືກກຳນົດນັ້ນ ບໍ່ໃຫ້ຄວາມຮ້ອນຮົນຫຼືຄວາມທໍ້ແທ້ນຳພາ.»
