Educational Q&A

Results are not produced by means alone (skill, mantra, medicine); they depend on the maturity of Time and circumstances. Therefore, maintain steadiness: do not lose heart when efforts fail in adversity, and do not become proud when they succeed in prosperity.

In the didactic setting of Śānti Parva, Vyāsa states a general principle about kāla (Time): the same human instruments can appear ineffective during downturns but become successful when conditions align, emphasizing patience, discernment, and humility.
