Educational Q&A

Even in a righteous war, conduct should remain disciplined: Arjuna does not rush into violence blindly but approaches his elder-teacher with folded hands and speaks only with Kṛṣṇa’s assent, reflecting restraint, respect, and guided action (dharma under wise counsel).

Sañjaya reports that Arjuna goes up to Droṇa, who is positioned at the head of the enemy formation, and—after receiving Kṛṣṇa’s approval—addresses him respectfully with joined palms, introducing the speech that follows.
