Educational Q&A

The verse underscores how war, when it becomes ghora (dreadful), takes on a near-cosmic magnitude, reminding the listener that such violence is not merely tactical but ethically weighty, shaking the very order (dharma) that society depends upon.

Sañjaya describes the battle as it is actively unfolding, characterizing it as terrifying and comparable to the legendary devas-versus-asuras conflict, thereby heightening the sense of scale and intensity in the Drona Parva war episodes.
