उत्पातवर्णनम् (Utpāta-varṇanam) — Catalogue of Portents
सर्वसस्यपरिच्छन्ना पृथिवी सस्यमालिनी । पज्चशीर्षा यवाशक्षापि शतशीर्षाश्ष शालय:,(इसका प्रभाव खेतीपर अनुकूल पड़ा है) पृथ्वी सब प्रकारके अनाजके पौधोंसे आच्छादित है, शस्यकी मालाओंसे अलंकृत है, जौमें पाँच-पाँच और जड़हन धानमें सौ-सौ बालियाँ लग रही हैं
sarvasasyaparicchannā pṛthivī sasyamālinī | pañcaśīrṣā yavāḥ śaṣkā api śataśīrṣāś ca śālayaḥ ||
ວຽສະກ່າວວ່າ: ແຜ່ນດິນຖືກປົກຄຸມໄປດ້ວຍພືດຜົນທຸກຊະນິດ ດັ່ງຖືກປະດັບດ້ວຍພວງມາລາແຫ່ງເຂົ້າກິນ. ຂ້າວບາເລຍ໌ມີຫົວຫ້າຫົວຕໍ່ກ້ານ ແລະຕົ້ນເຂົ້າມີຫົວເຖິງຮ້ອຍ—ເປັນພາບແຫ່ງຄວາມອຸດົມສົມບູນອັນພິເສດ ຊີ້ວ່າໃນລະດູນັ້ນ ທຳມະຊາດເອງກໍເປັນມິດຕໍ່ການກະສິກຳ ແລະອາຫານຂອງມະນຸດ.
