वायुदेव उवाच
The verse outlines a causal account of how sensory qualities (form, touch, sound) and mental states (doubt and settled certainty) arise from a single underlying source, presenting this as part of a broader sevenfold scheme of origination known to the wise.
Vāyudeva is speaking in a didactic mode, explaining a metaphysical sequence of emergence—how perceptible qualities and cognitive dispositions manifest—framing it as authoritative knowledge within the discourse of the Ashvamedhika Parva.
